A Historic Summer for Angus Breeders in America and Russia

Angus Genetics of Russia made history this summer with thier record-setting import of Angus cattle from Whitestone Krebs. Since May, three livestock ships have carried 3000 head of Angus heifers and bulls from Willmington, Delaware, across the Atlantic ocean to St. Petersburg, Russia. Everyone at Whitestone Krebs expresses our sincere appreciation and gratitude to our freinds at Angus Genetics of Russia for thier support of WK genetics!

Australian Visitors inspect WK Genetics

Whitestone Krebs thanks Stephen Handbury for stopping by Whitestone Krebs during his summer tour of American Angus operations. Steve owns and operates Anvil Angus, a registered cattle operation in Queensland, Australia. Steve is also a partner in WK Replay, the high selling bull of the 2009 WK Bull and Horse Sale. Steve especially liked the new WK herdsire, Hammer, who he commented "Was the nicest son of 338 he has seen." Steve, thanks for your support of WK Genetics and for your visit to the ranch!

Wonderful Summer Weather in the Sandhills!

Sandhill ranchers have been blessed with a great summer. Since the spring, rain has been pletiful and temperatrues have remained mild. It has all added up to lush green pastures and hay meadows. In fact, some hay meadows have been too wet to harvest 100% of the avaliable forage.

Along with surplus grass, cows and calves have benefited as well. Many operations report that this years calf crop will be the heavier at weaning that they've been in some time. The cows have maintained a healthy body condition score as well. No doubt, this has been a summer we will remember fondly for some time to come!

WK Genetics Go To Work In Russia

Whitestone Krebs would like to thank Angus Genetics of Russia for their purchase of the first American Angus cattle to ever set foot on Russian soil. On September xx, 2008, two jumbo jets left Chicago loaded with over 250 head of WK genetics bound for Moscow, Russia. Eldon, Louisa, Ty, and Dr. Jeff Erquiaga left soon thereafter to meet the cattle upon arrival. The trip took about 18 hours, which is about the same amount of time it would take to shipping cattle from Gordon to Nevada by truck. It is exciting to see the popularity of Angus cattle begin to stretch beyond the borders of the United States!
